At Villa Steiner, we bring people together to learn, reflect, and share ideas.
Throughout the year, the house hosts evening talks, weekend seminars, and multi-week summer courses —some curated by our own team, others organized by trusted partners who share our values. These events explore key questions in culture, society, leadership, and public life.
What they all share: a spirit of thoughtful dialogue, intellectual depth, and a setting that fosters genuine exchange.
An Open Door to Villa Steiner
Some events at Villa Steiner are open to the public, while others are by invitation or take place in partnership with like-minded institutions.
A recurring series open to friends of the house is the Villa Steiner Forum – held two to three times a year, it offers an opportunity to engage with timely themes, meet the community, and experience the spirit of the Academy.
For many, it’s also a first step toward engaging with our community.
Thoughtful Formats for Curious Minds
We offer a broad spectrum of events – from leadership seminars and ethics workshops for young professionals, to intellectually stimulating formats designed for more experienced participants seeking to stay engaged, curious, and open.
Many of our programs are highly tailored to specific audiences, which is why we rarely promote them widely. What unites them all is a commitment to thoughtful formation: timely in their themes, but not driven by the zeitgeist.
We’re also convinced that real education grows through reading — whether from a printed book or a digital tablet. And we believe that thoughtful conversations, engaging talks, and meaningful encounters in a place like this don’t compete with that. On the contrary: they spark curiosity, inspire reflection, and often rekindle the desire to read.

Villa Steiner has been proud to host the summer gathering of the IESE Business School alumni network in Austria, to regularly offer Personal Project seminars in collaboration with IIFD, and to co-organize with the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies in Zurich a conference on Science – God’s Surprising Ally. Together with the Pascal Institute and the University of Tulsa, we also held a week-long seminar on The Truth of Beauty — a program that reflected the very spirit of this house: open, thoughtful, and rooted in dialogue.
